Guangzhou China, June 1, 2011 - The first collaborative project between CNPC and Iraq about the two million barrels of oil shipment has started in recent days. The shipment sets out from Basra port in Iraq, across the Indian Ocean and finally arrives in China.

The responsible person in CNPC indicated that import of crude oil can guarantee a stable supply for domestic refineries, and will have a positive promotion to the future business in this area. The first shipment of the crude oil marks the cost recovery of the Rumaila project carried out by CNPC (Iraq), which means it steps in the stage of rapid development.
